The problem

## Your breach plan lives in someone's head

Most organisations discover their breach procedure does not exist at the worst possible moment — while the breach is happening. The plan lives in someone's head, the notification clock is already running, and nobody is sure who decides what.

This workshop fixes that in a single morning. You bring a laptop; we bring the framework, the templates and the facilitation. By 1:00 p.m. you have a breach response procedure written for your organisation — your departments, your people, your escalation ladder. Not a generic sample you still have to adapt.

This is not a lecture on breach law. You will be working, and you will leave with something you can put in front of your board.

- Your procedure exists in conversation, not in a document.
- Nobody has agreed who decides to notify, or who speaks publicly.
- The notification clock starts before anyone has read the plan.

What you leave with

## Four finished documents, done in the session

Not notes to write up later. Four artefacts completed on your own laptop, with your organisation's details already in them.

- 01

  ### Breach Response Procedure

Written for your organisation, in your words, ready to take into internal sign-off on Monday.
- 02

  ### Incident Response Team Guide and Charter

Named people, defined decision rights, and a clear path from first report to executive call.
- 03

  ### Notification Pack

A regulator notification template and a data subject letter, both pre-filled with your organisation's details.
- 04

  ### Breach Register & Incident Log

Set up, formatted and ready for its first entry before you leave the room.

## Workshop agenda

Every minute is designed to move you closer to a procedure you can use on Monday. Here's how we'll spend the morning together.

1. 9:00 AM

   ### Welcome & introduction

Meet the Design Privacy team, connect with fellow participants, and get set up on your laptop.
2. 9:20 AM

   ### What counts as a breach

Short, practical framing: the incidents that trigger your obligations, the notification clock, and who in your organisation is accountable when it starts.
3. 9:45 AM

   ### Name your response team

Build your response team roster — real names, real roles — and set the escalation ladder from first detection to executive decision.
4. 10:15 AM

   ### Draft your breach response procedure

The core build. Work step by step through detection, containment, assessment and decision-making, writing the procedure for your organisation as you go.
5. 11:00 AM

   ### Coffee & networking break

Refreshments, sweets, and a chance to connect with peers who share your compliance challenges.
6. 11:30 AM

   ### Your notification templates

Complete your regulator notification template and your data subject notification letter, pre-filled with your organisation's details and ready to send under pressure.
7. 12:10 PM

   ### Set up your breach register

Stand up your breach register and incident log so it's live and ready for its first entry before you leave.
8. 12:30 PM

   ### Test it & next steps

Run your finished procedure against a live breach scenario, get feedback on where it holds and where it bends, and learn how to keep it current.

Who it's for

## Built for the people who will be in the room when it happens

- ### Data Protection Officers

You own the procedure and you need it finished, not started.
- ### CEOs and senior management

You are the one deciding, signing and speaking publicly when a breach happens.
- ### Compliance, risk, IT and operations leads

You sit on the response team, so you need to know your part before it is tested.

Your facilitators

Registration

## Reserve your seat

Twenty seats. That is the whole room.

This is a hands-on session — every attendee builds their own procedure with a facilitator over their shoulder, so the room is capped at 20 and we do not add chairs. Registration closes when the seats go.

**Can't make it after all?** Your registration transfers to a colleague at no charge. If you don't have anyone to send, you'll receive credit for the full amount toward a future Design Privacy event.

Before you book

## Questions people ask

Do I need to bring a laptop?

Yes — a laptop is required. You will be writing your own procedure during the session, and there is no way to do that without one.

What else should I bring?

An organisation chart or a department list is useful but not essential. If you have an existing incident response plan, however rough, bring it.

Do I need to have attended the July DPIA workshop?

No. Each session in the series stands on its own. Session 2 assumes no prior attendance.

Can my organisation be invoiced?

Yes. Pay by credit card at registration, or request an invoice and we will issue one.

What if I can't attend?

Your registration transfers to a colleague at no charge — just let us know. If you don't have anyone to send, you'll receive credit for the full amount toward a future Design Privacy event. We don't offer cash refunds. Write to [sales@designprivacy.io](mailto:sales@designprivacy.io) for any change.

Will photographs be taken?

Yes, and only with your consent. We capture photography consent at registration.

Is this legal advice?

No. This is a working session, not a lecture on breach law. You leave with a procedure built to a practical framework — and we would always recommend your own legal review before final sign-off.
